18-242 Cupp Point


18-242 Cupp point made from rough heat treated Crescent chert. These Late Woodland-Early Mississippian pieces were made by the same people that made Scallorn arrow points. These were used as knife blades. Note, some look very much like Hopewell points and the wider un-resharpened ones can be easily confused with that earlier type unless found on a site with Scallorn points. This one has some nice color but the material had rough spots that made it interesting to work.  Length 3 3/4 inches.  Price, $15.
