RETURN TO OLIVE BRANCH: EXCAVATIONS 2002-2005, Authored by R. M. Gramly, PhD with a forward by Charles McNutt and appendices by Drs. Kirk Spurr and Marilyn Shoberg. Illustrated with artwork, inked drawings, and photos by D. Eiswald, V. Waldorf, S. Wallmann and P. Bostrom [Lithics Casting Lab].  Published in 2008 this is the last and concluding report about this monumental Dalton encampment on the banks of the Mississippi River. Val did about 35 of the 116 inked drawings for this book, including a magnificent frontispiece foldout featuring both faces of one of the two monster Thebes Gap points from the Neralich Cache. This is one of the largest ancient North American pieces she had the privilege of drawing! Also, this was the last book project she worked on for Mike Gramly. After her untimely death in early in 2005, with less than half the illustrations completed, Steve Wallmann, another fine illustrator took over. Also there are 7 pages of recreated scenes of Dalton era life expertly rendered by Debbie Eiswald. With the ASAA website now off line I was able to acquire a limited quantity of these books in order to continue their sale on my site. Since some of the artifacts and information are featured in both books this monograph would make for a wonderful companion to the second volume in my Master Knapper’s Guide Series. And this should be a must have for all Dalton fans!  7 x 10, 184 pages, soft bound with reinforced stapled spine for durability, includes foldout frontispiece and site map housed in end pocket. Price per copy is $30.
