23-328 SMALL SERRATED SCALLORN TYPE POINT made of heat treated Kaolin chert. Kaolin chert comes from a highly localized deposit in the Shawnee National Forest in Union County, Illinois. I have been to the site but did not collect, what little material I have I got from an archeologist years ago. It was well used by area Woodland and Mississippian Period people. What this little point has going for it is some color, and a cheap price for the work that went into it! Size, 1 1/4 inches. Price, $6.
