22 D-727 TYPE IV-E DAGGER WITH "COCKED HAT" POMMEL

$265.00

22 D-727 TYPE IV-E DAGGER WITH "COCKED HAT" POMMEL made of heat treated Georgetown, Texas flint. This is a nice size dagger made from one of the best American substitutes for western Baltic flint. The blade is percussion flaked with pressure retouch covering about 50% of the surface, and the edges are very sharp! The stitching down the center of the handle is medium second pass pressure over a punched in median crest. Even though it got by a small cavity in the center of the handle it is still nice and even with the side and pommel stitching a good match. One pommel horn is a bit higher than the other thus the term "cocked hat". This feature is found on some daggers in museums in Germany. Whether it was intentional or accidental we don't know. In this case it was just the way this dagger came out. I spent a lot of time on it, had a lot of trouble with it, and was glad to get what I got!  Length, 8 3/8 inches. Price, $265. Sorry, this one is sold. Hope to have another one like it on here next year.

SORRY, CANNOT BE SHIPPED OUTSIDE THE US!
