24 D-762 TYPE IV-E DAGGER made from raw speckled root beer flint. Due to so much light colored, grainier patches in this material it could not be heat treated at even a lower temperature because of the torsions between the two grades of material in the same piece that would have cracked it up. At about 3.5+ on the lithic grade scale all I could do was use brute percussion to beat out this piece. However, I did a nice clean job on the blade with a little pressure retouch around the edges. The stitching was done single pass with a well controlled punch. The bold pattern was so even I just left as is. The side stitching was fun, doing a good even job here took about all the strength and control I had. With the color variation in it and the nice shape, all-in-all, this is a very good dagger, and well worth the price! Length, 7 7/8 inched, price $250. SOLD!
