22 D-728 LARGE TYPE V-A DAGGER WITH CORTEX POMMEL made of heat treated Georgetown flint. Type V daggers can be quite large especially when cortex is left on the pommel, and there is also a bit of white left on the tip showing I got all the length out of this sizable nodule. The cortex is soft chalk the flint coming out of the chalk member of the Austen limestone formation. To stabilize it a bit I put fingernail polish on it so it won't rub off on your hands!  The blade was percussion flaked with an oblique pressure finish and the handle is also finished this way with side stitching added.
